If You Forget Your User Identification Number or PIN

If you forget the user identification number or PIN that are required for using e-Tax, you need to submit a notification of change, etc.
* If you have already registered your secret question and answer, you can reset your PIN online. (It is not necessary to submit the notification of change, etc.)

Regarding notifications of change, etc., you can submit online by the following procedure.
Be sure to save or print the send result screen displayed after transmission.

After submitting the notification, Tax Office will send a notice according to the contents of the notification submitted at a later date.

1 Confirm the operating environment

Be sure to confirm various terms of use and recommended environment before submitting notifications of change, etc. on line.

Hardware

  • CPU: Pentium 4 (1.6 GHz) or higher (or equivalent)
  • Memory: 512 MB or more
  • Hard disk drive (HDD): 2 GB or more of available space
  • Screen resolution: 1024 x 768 or higher

  • (Note 2) For users of Windows 8.1, please use "desktop mode (Japanese)" (Not available in Modern UI).
  • (Note 3) Note that the e-Tax software may not work (Japanese) on a 64-bit version of Microsoft Windows.
  • (Note 4) To use this page, the JavaScript function of the browser must be enabled.
  • (Note 5) To use this page, the filter level of the "Pop-up Blocker Settings" of the browser must be set to "Medium" or lower.

2 Confirm the installation of the root certificate

When submitting the notifications of change, etc. online, it is necessary that the root certificate is installed on your computer and registered as trusted sites.

3 Create/submit notifications of change, etc.

Those who have already confirmed 1 and 2, please proceed to the creation/submission of notifications for change, etc. by the following button.
After clicking the button, select "Lost the user identification number, etc." on the screen displayed, then create/submit.

  • In the case of other than the above (lost the user identification number and PIN), confirm the contents of 1 and 2 above. You can create and submit with selecting "Create other notifications of change" on the screen displayed after clicking "Create/submit notifications of change, etc." button on 3.
  • Notifications of change, etc. can also be submitted in writing. When submitting notification in writing, please check "Notification of start (change, etc.) using e-Tax in writing (Japanese)".
